I
think it's interesting that one proposal is to turn the area
into "wetlands".
Cardin has always been surrounded by ponds. There was
originally two creeks
that originated northeast of the power plant. Both
were turned into pond after pond,
until they entered Tar Creek. These ponds are clear as
glass, and have always
contained lots of fish and muskrats..
One
went east past the Velie, the Beaver and Golden Rod
#3, the other crossed the road
to the south past the Ritz, the Bennie, the Lucky
Bill, the Woodchuck, and the Domado/Rialto.
The
chat piles in this picture are the woodchuck piles.
There is even more water to the
right and left of this picture.
