These guys had to be either the dumbest or
the bravest among all miners. Can you
imagine climbing that 60 foot ladder with a
powder pole
to jar loose any rock that's in danger of
falling? They did that every morning! This picture also shows why some cave-ins are such large holes. Most people think of the mines as tunnels, not cavernous voids. And, there's two teams up on the wall with PRODS drilling to blast even more loose! |
