Baxter Springs Heritage Center and Museum

Miami School under construction in 1903.  By 1911, it was to be replaced.
1911 also saw the construction of two "ward schools".  (grade schools?)
December of that year saw the cornerstone laid.
The above eight year old building was torn down and sold for scrap.
September of 1912 saw the new school buildings open.
