Virginia Nowlin of
Commerce died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at
Eastwood Manor Nursing Home in Commerce.
She was 87.
Mrs. Nowlin was born Sept. 29, 1921, in
Miami to Isaac and Bertha Smith. She
lived in the Picher and Commerce area
all her life.
She worked at Delmar Laundry and Dry
Cleaners as a bookkeeper for 26 years.
She was a member of the First Christian
Church of Commerce. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Jack Nowlin, in
1984
She was also preceded in death by one
son, Jimmy Nowlin in 2000, and her
parents.
Survivors include one son and his wife,
Jerry and Brenda Nowlin of Tulsa; one
daughter, Judy Pace of Carthage, Okla.;
one grandson and his wife, Michael and
Jennifer Pace, and two
great-grandchildren.
Services were July 9, at
Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
Pastor Gene Hutchcraft officiated.
Burial was in G.A.R. Cemetery in
Miami.
Family and friends served as
pallbearers.
