Martha
Marie Hasseberg of Quapaw died Wednesday
Sept. 2, 2009, at Integris Baptist Regional
Health Center in Miami. She was 90
Mrs. Hasseberg was born April 10, 1919, in
Okeene, Ark. to Charles and Addie (Potter)
Clark. She lived in the Picher and Quapaw
area for more than 70 years.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the
Kansas Army Ammunitions Plant in Parsons,
Kan., Eagle-Picher Boron Plant in Quapaw and
owned and operated Hasseberg Grocery Store in
Picher. She was a member of First United
Methodist Church in Picher and Rebekah Lodge
of Miami. She was preceded in death by her
husband William “Bill” Hasseberg on Feb. 24,
1998; her parents; four brothers, Elmer,
Jake, Harry and Andrew Clark, and one
grandson, Jason Dunning.
Survivors include: three sons, William A
Hasseberg Jr. of Aventura, Fla., and David
Hasseberg and Gary Hasseberg, both of Quapaw;
two daughters, Donella Dunning of Quapaw and
Mary Ball of Commerce; one brother, Roy Clark
of Rockford, Ill., 18 grandchildren and 27
great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5,
at Greenlawn Cemetery, northwest of Treece,
Kan. Bobby Chaffee and James Reese will
officiate.
