Gary E.
Alsbury Sr. of Miami, Okla., passed away
Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at his home. He was
69.
Mr. Alsbury was born Nov. 24, 1939, in
Douthat, Okla., to Noel Alsbury and Ella
(Marsh) Alsbury. He lived in the Miami area
most of his life.
He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a
member of the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean
Alsbury of the home; one son, Gary Alsbury
Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Horn Lake, Miss.;
two daughters, Shari Clapp of Miami, Okla.,
and Andra Alsbury of Fayetteville, Ark.; his
mother, Ella Alsbury of Miami, Okla.; three
brothers, Ferrell Alsbury and wife Jacqueline
of Joplin, Mo., Doyle Alsbury and wife Gloria
of Quapaw, Okla., and Darrell Alsbury and
wife Edna of Hulbert, Okla., seven
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were 10 a.m. Friday at Paul Thomas
Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Danny
Burleson officiated. Burial was in G.A.R.
Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
Military honors were conducted by Fort Sills
Honor Guard of Lawton, Okla.
Pallbearers were Brandon Clapp, Bradley
Clapp, Gary Alsbury III, Brant Clapp, Aaron
Romine and Alan Mowry.
Services were under the direction of Paul
Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla. |
