Constance “Connie” Lucille Wisdom of
Wyandotte, Okla. formerly of Picher,
Okla., died Thursday Sept. 17, 2009, at
St. John’s Regional Medical Center in
Joplin, Mo. She was 64.
Mrs. Wisdom was born Oct. 21, 1944, in
Picher, Okla., to George W. and Estella
Lucille (Bennette) Darnell. She had
lived in Picher all her life and was a
member of the Highway Tabernacle Church
in Cardin, Okla.
Preceded in death by her parents; one
sister, Beatrice Beets; two nephews
Nathan South and John Allan Blackbear
Jr., and three brothers-in-law, Elmer
Topper, Harold Beets and Harold South.
Survivors include her husband, Cleo
Wisdom of Wyandotte, Okla.; two sons,
Cleo Dewayne Wisdom Jr. and wife Anna
of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Donald
LeRoy Wisdom and wife Karla of
Commerce, Okla.; two daughters, Debbie
Diane Roher and husband Ernest of
Commerce, Okla., and Tammie Lucille
Turner and husband Steven of Picher,
Okla.; three brothers, George Darnell
and wife Billie of Wichita, Kan., James
Franklin Darnell and wife Paula of
Miami, Okla., and Norton Shoemaker and
wife Ruth of Picher, Okla.; three
sisters, Clara Eunice Topper of Miami,
Okla., Darlene Evans and husband Bill of
Commerce, Okla., Mildred Blackbear and
husband John of Kenwood, Okla., 15
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday,
Sept. 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Paul
Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, Okla.
The Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate.
Interment will be in Pleasant View
Cemetery in Baxter Springs, Kan.
Pallbearers will be Norton Shoemaker,
Charles Shoemaker, Ernest Roher Sr.,
Donald Wisdom, George Darnell and James
Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be
Clifton South, Mark Hickey and David
Williams.
The family will receive friends from 7
to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at
the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in
Commerce, Okla.
