John Gary Creason

John Gary Creason, age 78, of Baxter Springs, Kan., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

John was born to the late Denver Greely Creason and Helen Louise Breuer Creason Jan. 6, 1936, in Picher, Okla. He had lived in the area for 16 years, and previously resided in Mojave, Calif. John was a US Army Veteran, having served in Germany, and was a member of the Mojave CB Club. He worked for Rever Extruders for over 27 years, and then retired, working as a handyman on the side.

Surviving are one son: Vance Reeves of Miami, Okla.; One daughter: Amy Simmons and husband Dale of Lowell, Kan.; Two sisters: Sue Mordica of Gladstone Kansas City, Kan. and Brenda Hackett of Moore, Okla.; Four Grandchildren: Andrew Reeves of Stillwater, Okla., Trapper Reeves of Wyandotte, Okla., Damon Simmons and Ambur Simmons of Lowell, Kan., and a host of other family members. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Cole “Eddie” Creason, Tom Creason, and Garland “Tiny” Creason; and one sister: Martha Louise Creason.

John gave the gift of his body to Medical Science. He was taken to KU Medical Center in Kansas City. No services are scheduled at this time, but will be planned by the family in the summer of 2015, when the cremains are returned to them. Counsel provided by Derfelt Funeral Homes.
