James A. Seward, a longtime area resident passed away at Osborne Care and Rehabilitation on Monday, September 17, 2012 at seventy-two. Mr. Seward was born on October 13, 1939 in Picher, Okla. to Louis and Illah (Rhoades) Seward. James was a veteran of the United State Air Force, he worked as a purchaser for B.F. Goodrich and Eagle Picher, was a member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed fishing and hunting, he and his wife Mary enjoyed belonging to the Corvette Club also. He married his wife of fifteen years Mary Barr in May of 1997.

Mr. Seward was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Illah.

Survivors include his wife Mary Seward of the home and a brother Larry Seward and his wife Vicki of Tulsa, Okla. along with special cousins Patricia Edmondson and her husband Stanley of Columbus, Kan.
