Diane Adel Martin of Miami entered into
rest Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Freeman
Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was 75.
Mrs. Martin was born June 17, 1934, in
Chicago, Ill. She lived in the Baxter
Springs, Kan., Picher and Miami area all
of her life.
She worked for many years with her
family at Martin’s Supermarket in
Picher. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Miami, the
Twentieth Century Club, the P.E.O.,
Miami Golf and Country Club, 13th
Century and Zeta-RHO Sorority. Survivors
include her husband, Max Martin of the
home; two sons, Gregg Martin of Quapaw
and Brian Martin and his wife Shara of
Miami; one daughter, Kim Johnson and her
husband Jimmy of Miami; one sister,
Virginia Ness of Baxter Springs, six
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at
the First Presbyterian Church in Miami.
The Rev. Helen Hutchison will officiate.
Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery of
Miami.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Martin, Brian
Martin, Dewayne Treece, Rusty Messenger,
Bob Hunt, Jody Bingham and Brett
Bingham. Honorary pallbearers will be
Jimmy Johnson, Drew Johnson, Cade
Johnson and Jim Fleming.
